FOR COMPRESSOR BURNOUT The RectorSeal 45004 “Acid-Away” is a high-performance, petroleum-base chemical treatment designed specifically for use in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems that have experienced compressor burnout or show signs of acid buildup. It comes in a 4 oz bottle and is formulated to circulate quickly throughout hermetic or semi-hermetic compressor systems using mineral oil or alkylbenzene refrigeration oils. Once introduced, it neutralises residual acids left behind after a failure event or during preventative maintenance, thereby halting further corrosive damage to system components. Compatible with all common compressor materials, this treatment reduces the need for repeated oil changes or system flushing, and lowers the risk of repeat compressor burnout. It’s approved and recommended by many OEMs, tested to relevant ANSI/ASHRAE and ASTM standards, and suited for both corrective and preventative HVAC/R maintenance.
