CUI started in 1978 as Cans Unlimited, Inc. At first, we supplied Kerosene heaters, wicks, accessories and replacement parts. During this time our founder, Al Groves, sensed a need for a kerosene fuel container that looked different from standard red gas cans. He began brokering and selling these blue kerosene cans in massive quantities all over the country, and Cans Unlimited Inc. was born.

We began the natural transition into gas products in the early 1990s. In 1993 we became one of the original distributors for Monessen Hearth Systems, a relationship that is still strong today. We currently partner with R.H. Peterson, Empire Comfort Systems, ProCom and Superior to name a few. CUI is a current authorized parts and warranty center for all of these manufacturers.
